Leave No Trace Canada is happy to welcome our new Board Chair Patrick Auger (Bienvenue!)

Patrick is a certified hiking guide in Canada, public speaker, avid hiker and Leave No Trace trainer. Certified in Wilderness & Remote First Aid with the Canadian Red Cross he is passionate about the outdoors, with extensive experience hiking and organizing mountain hikes for nearly 20 years in Quebec.

Some of his most recent adventures are:
In 2018 Patrick hiked The Camino of Compostela; the Camino Del Norte and the Camino Primitivo, more than 385 miles (622 km). In 2017, he successfully completed the 2190-mile (3500 km) long trek on the legendary Appalachian Trail between the States (14) of Georgia and Maine; 148 days of hiking in complete autonomy. In 2016 he completed the Vermont Long Trail, 272 miles (438 km).

Having at heart to develop and enhance the outdoor experience of trail hikers, while respecting our social and environmental responsibility, he sponsors the Mont-Ouareau Trail on the National Trail in the province of Quebec, which allows him to promote and raise awareness around trail sustainability.

Patrick brings to the Leave No Trace Canada board 15 years of experience in leadership and management roles in a variety of areas, from software development industry to television and more recently in payroll business support.

We look forward to furthering awareness of the Leave No Trace mouvement in Canada together!
